The Next Level in Home Sleep Testing: Type II Unattended Polysomnography

The Sleep Profiler PSG2TM combines the accurate1,2 and comprehensive measures of in-lab polysomnography with the ease and convenience of home sleep testing. It uses voice messages to assist the patient to correctly self-apply the sensors. Real-time detection of poor airflow and oximetry signal quality trigger corrective voice alerts, contributing to its industry-leading 94% success rate3 for a Type II study.

Sleep Profiler PSG2 is a 13-channel system which includes EEG, EOG and EMG, wireless oximetry, nasal pressure/airflow, chest and abdomen respiratory effort (RIP or piezo), forehead and finger pulse rate, head movement and position, and quantitative snoring. The guidelines below provide billing clarity when using PSG2 with or without the respiratory effort belts:

Code*
Description*
G0398
Home sleep study test (HST) with type II portable monitor; unattended; minimum of 7 channels: EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG/heart rate, airflow, respiratory effort, and oxygen saturation
95800
Sleep study, unattended, simultaneous recording; heart rate, oxygen saturation, respiratory analysis (e.g., by airflow or peripheral arterial tone), and sleep time

Its ease-of-use, coupled with its high accuracy and reliability, make it the perfect solution when lab-based testing is unavailable for patients with comorbidities. Most importantly, physicians and staff can feel confident in their home sleep testing while reducing person-to-person contact.
